Casa museo Jorn / from 3 July to 22 August 2021
From 3 July to 22 August Jorn House Museum hosts Symbjornts, Karin Andersen’s personal exhibition, curated by Luca Bochicchio, Stella Cattaneo and Daniele Panucci and promoted by the Association Friends of Jorn House and Traffic Gallery (Bergamo) with the contribution of the Municipality of Albissola Marina and Fondazione Agostino De Mari.
It is a site-specific artistic project, created by the artist starting from the specific place of the Museum: the garden, the rooms, the natural and architectural environments. Andersen, thinking about the origin of Asger Jorn's house, questions the biological concept of mutualistic symbiosis and therefore she comes to hypothesize the villa as the result of the interaction of two organisms: Asger Jorn and Albissola, who coexist gaining mutual benefit. The artist has created ephemeral sculptures of various sizes made – in accordance with the Danish artist’s poetics - with recycled and perishable materials, which will come into contact with Jorn's total work of art, with the aim of elaborating themes and reflections, leaving room for randomness and spontaneity as in the poetics of the Danish master. These mutant creatures, born from the hybridization with the mythological and informal beings modeled by Jorn in his garden overlooking the sea, are called "Symbjornts": fantastic materialization of the symbiotic process between Jorn and Albissola.
