The Ceramists' Nativity Scenes

Curated by  Nanni Basso
Alba Docilia Furnace from december 6, 2019 (opening time 18.00) to january 12, 2020

December’s exhibition, at the Furnace, is traditionally linked to the nativity scenes, as the structure hosts a permanent exhibition of Machachi, the traditional Albisola’s  figurines. This year, and until 12 January 2020, the protagonists are the ceramists from the territory, each of them, with his own interpretation of the Nativity theme.

About twenty local artists and artisans have joined  the “ Ceramists’ Nativity Scenes” exhibit. A particular area is dedicated to a traditional Ligurian nativity scene, set up by Luciana Scarone, and to the interpretations of Figurinaia in the context of Pozzo Garitta, made last September at  Masterceramist, by participants in the nativity scenes course of the Municipal School of Albisola Superiore.

One day, one event, Saturday, December 14 (beginning at 17.00) entitled “The Feast of Nativity Scenes”. Also, among others, the exhibition of the group “Inuetta” (inside the Furnace): poems in dialect will be recited and reading excerpts from the book “ Il nostro presepe – Macachi e dintorni” recently published.
